Daniel R. Lewis has worked and resided in Seminole County, Florida since 2006, relocating to Central Florida after completing a 9 year term of service in the United States Air Force. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland University College in 2005, and took executive classes at Harvard University before obtaining his Masters in Arts from the University of Central Florida’s History program in 2010, whereupon his thesis work Thomas Jefferson and the Execution of the United States Indian Policy became a published book in 2011. Attorney Lewis went on to receive his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, Florida, where he graduated Cum Laude while serving as Senior Editor of the Florida A&M University Law Review, as well as Captain of the Florida A&M 2012-2013 ABA Tax Section Law Student Moot Court Tax Challenge team.
Attorney Lewis has published books, articles, and journal pieces in the fields of finance, history, and law, and taught American History at the University of Central Florida and Seminole State College for a period of years. He is an ardent philanthropist, active legal reformer, and environmental supporter for the Central Florida area. Beginning in 2014, his water law research on the Wekiva Springs, River and Basin has been adopted as curriculum by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Environmental Cooperative Science Center.
After interning for the State Attorney’s Office, 9th Judicial Circuit, and at a large corporation where he assisted in-house counsel on various employment, financial, and business requirements matters for Fortune 500 companies, he incorporated his own private practice. In his current practice located in Sanford, Florida, Attorney Lewis has embraced the community through charity work and continual involvement in local civic organizations, including holding a position on the Board of Directors in the Greater Sanford Chamber of Commerce from 2017-2019, and the City of Sanford Planning and Zoning Commission from 2020-2021. He currently runs a large non-profit organization that holds quarterly charitable events and fundraisers and works tirelessly to support the local at risk community and shelters. Professionally, Attorney Lewis guides families and individuals through the estate planning process, provides in-house counsel services and contract reviews for Central Florida businesses, and handles other general practice matters.
